Why is my fish tank cloudy?

Question:

Help appreciated! x

Answers:

If you rinsed your gravel before putting it in the tank and filling it, then it's a bacteria bloom. What happens is bacteria grows that break down the ammonia fish produce into nitrites, then more bacteria grows to break the nitrites down into nitrates. It's a natural process for any aquarium. Let it sit for a few days and it should clear up on it's own as the bacteria latch on to the media in your filter.

I had to wash my gravel like 6 times to get rid of most of the dust. Replace the water in the tank with a siphon and it should get better

do a water change, like 50%, your gravel is probably dirty, my tank did the same thing, i just syphoned the gravel every days until the water looked clean! :) good luck

R u sure the filter is on because when i went on holiday my electricity went off and so did the filter when i got back it was so cloudy you could only just see the fish so i suggest you check that's its on or in properly

xmay be some other person of your home added something in it without letting you know. or that person who don't like fish in home. need detectives...;-(buy a new fish tank filter.you need a new filter:)
