Don't add sludge from another filter because it will just add mostly sludge to your clean tank and not much bacteria. What you do is actually get filter media from another filter from a mature tank, wring out the sludge to minimize it, and actually put the filter media into your filter - it will add healthy bacteria of both types and your tank will cycle in no time at all.
